Republicans are facing a growing warning sign ahead of the midterms: voters remain deeply frustrated with the cost of living. Inflation was 3.5% in June, while wage growth also stood at 3.5%. Fox News polling shows Democrats now hold a 9-point advantage on which party voters trust more to handle the economy. GOP strategists fear some Republican-leaning voters could stay home or defect in November. #TruthOverSpin | The Dupree Report

August 8, 2026 | Wall Street rallied after President Trump and top administration officials suggested a breakthrough on reopening the Strait of Hormuz could come within days. Stocks surged while oil prices dropped as investors priced in the possibility of normal shipping returning.
But the anticipated reopening didn’t arrive on that timetable. Negotiations continued, while normal commercial traffic through the Strait remained restricted.
The markets moved on expectations. The breakthrough they were anticipating had yet to materialize.
Did Wall Street get ahead of reality?

Abdul El-Sayed is deemed dangerous by political establishment groups because his anti-corporate, progressive platform directly threatens their status quo. AIPAC views him as a critical threat to the U.S.-Israel relationship due to his outspoken demands to end military aid to Israel, which he has sharply accused of "apartheid" and "genocide." Establishment Democrats fear him because he actively bucks party tradition, challenges corporate PAC funding, and backed the "uncommitted" movement—sparking fears that his hard-left positions jeopardize party unity in a crucial swing state. Meanwhile, Republicans label his healthcare plans and tax reforms as radical extremism, warning that his ascent moves the national political compass too far left.

Trump’s Gaza disarmament plan is facing resistance from Israel even as strikes continue. Netanyahu has not publicly backed the framework and is voicing “serious security concerns,” warning that Hamas may be buying time rather than disarming. Far-right coalition partners are pushing him to reject any pullback, while U.S. officials press for compliance. With Israeli elections approaching, analysts say Netanyahu is likely to delay rather than fully endorse the deal.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former Republican congresswoman from Georgia, has publicly broken with the Republican Party, joining conservative commentator Tucker Carlson in declaring they are “done” supporting the GOP over what they describe as its betrayal of voters and “America last” policies. Both have criticized the party for prioritizing foreign interests and for its alignment with President Trump’s military actions abroad, and say they no longer consider themselves Republican, though they also reject becoming Democrats.
